Launched by our CEO and founder, Cary Mullen, and managed by a compassionate group of owners, the Vivo Foundation is deeply connected to our greater community. Supporting a variety of local initiatives, from teaching school children to rescuing baby sea turtles, the Vivo Foundation is a unique vehicle for our members and guests to get involved and contribute to the well-being of our surrounding communities in meaningful ways.

PRESERVATION
SANCTUARY FOR SEA TURTLES
Many thousands of endangered sea turtles have safely scurried off the sands in front of Vivo Resorts—thanks, in part, to the Vivo Foundation. Monetary contributions help local turtle preservation efforts cover the costs of collecting, nurturing, and releasing baby turtles to their ocean shelter. These interventions protect them from predators and human disturbance, so they can one day come back and lay eggs in greater numbers.
HOUSING
Place to call Home
A cause near and dear to our hearts is the local orphanage in Puerto Escondido—Casa Hogar. Our Vivo Foundation members donate both time and money to provide the resident children with a safe and loving place to live. To date, our contributions have included building a treehouse, new kitchen appliances, fencing and providing donations for essential medical assistance.
Support
PROVIDING A LIFELINE
Our local chapter of the Mexican Red Cross, a non-governmental humanitarian assistance organization affiliated with the International Federation of Red Cross, provides human health services here in Puerto Escondido. To help support their vital efforts, Vivo Foundation funds purchases of medically necessary equipment, such as defibrillators and heart monitors, that save countless lives every year.
EDUCATION
PUTTING KIDS FIRST
The initiative of one Vivo Resorts homeowner was the driving force for creating a school where local children can learn English as a second language. Each year, the Vivo Foundation helps provide necessary educational supplies and funds to pay a local resident to teach at the school. Learning English while they’re still young will open the door to new opportunities as these students grow older, enter the workforce and pursue careers in a globalized world.
